I do, Had Home Economics in middle school and the Navy taught me as well.

1. Give my wife a good fricking.
2. Go to work
3. Come home to my shite having been sewn.

My grandmother taught me and my cousin for some odd reason. We used that skill to sew up our own boxing gloves and beat the shite out of one another.

I can sew on a button. It won't last as long as a factory job but I can usually get 3 or 4 wears out of it.

Yep, my grandmother is a master quilter. It was required learning in our house. It has served me well more than once.

My grandfather encouraged being able to be completely self sufficient. He said you need to be able to not need anyone else to get through life that way you appreciate it when you do find someone to share life with.

The ARMY taught me. If you left a button unbuttoned the drill sgt was going to rip it off. And you had to sew it back. You learned 2 things fast. Button it up and how to sew it back when you messed up

I can sew on a button, the limit of my sewing skills. Back when I wore a suit everyday, I went to the gym before work. It sucked when I took out a shirt from the cleaners to get dressed at the gym and the button was gone. Kept a needle and white thread in my desk drawer.

My Mom taught me how to sew when I was very young. I didn't particularly enjoy it and saw no purpose in learning how to at the time but its came in quite useful throughout my adult life. She also taught me how to bake which is another skill I'm very thankful that she thought was important for me to know.

Put another needle flat between the button and the shirt to give it a little play once you tighten up the thread.

Sewing a button on a shirt is easy.

Sewing up a seam is easy.

I've never bothered fixing a sock.
