How many of you trust mass/social media? Do you feel like you’re constantly being lied to?

From fake happy housewives two posts from messaging a Jody to the government directly manipulating the masses to keep us divided because the biggest threat to their control is a United “us”...it seems like it is getting more and more difficult to trust any message that comes across our screens.
We may end up being the most pessimistic generation in history so far.
How can we shut these liars up?
If you have the time watch the video in the link from a former FaceBook executive (warning - 56 minute long interview): LINK

I don’t trust the MSM and social media is rotten with people who regurgitate their stories.

Dumb post is dumb.

I've read a lot of reflective articles from journalists about how they see their role in the world and the future of their profession, and frankly, it scares the living hell out of me.
There is no objective metric for what is "newsworthy" or "important". John McCain's funeral dominated national news for a week just because a couple people wanted it to. The mass protests in Iran over the summer didn't receive 4 seconds of coverage because those same people didn't want them to. Scary stuff when you start questioning "What's important about this?" on every news story. I find fewer and fewer answers to that question.

The only news or media I trust is from this website. Tigerdroppings, giving you fair, true, and balanced news

It's your job as a user to know what you are intaking.
You should intake more hard news than soft, but that's crazy with the media today.
The best thing to do is look into it if you have concerns. Besides that, it will be based off of your bias from life experience. That's not always good though.

I have bigger problem with people that claim they are so over social media but use it constantly.
The political board acts like they are years beyond it yet constantly talk about things they see on it.

I always presume I'm being lied to, then act accordingly.

I use twitter and instagram. I like to think I am not an idiot and have a pretty good handle on what is trust worthy and what isn't.

Dont trust them. Big Tech is super liberal, and definitely taking advantage to change the political environment.
Couple examples:
1. Heard an interview with the head of Cisco where he let it slip where tech companies are needing to start putting jobs in the midwest areas "or we'll keep seeing these election results".
2. The LinkedIn Co-CEO having to apologies for donating $100K to a company that used "russian tactics" to manipulate the alabama election that Roy Moore was in with saying he met with the russians. He lost by less than 2% points.

People lie all the time, it isn't just media. The hardest lies to catch are the ones passed around by people who believe the lie and will defend it lest they appear to be gullible.
