We tithe.

I consider the sum of all charitable donations the tithe (we only donate to Christian charities). The church I attend isn’t entitled to the full 10% imo.

I don't attend that church, I used to but the guy(Chester the molester,) struck me immediately as a slick snake oil salesman, church is fake, choreographed, and very much a big business, with tax exemptions of course

Those damn commercials. I'll feel a little less guilty when I see one knowing that you give to them. Maybe toss in a little extra from me.

Imagine not knowing the Bible and that giving 10% was a Jewish law. The new testament says to give from the heart.

Doesn't make it a bad guideline to follow.

Imagine expecting your supporters should give you 10% of their hard earned income...just because...year after year...

Are we talking about churches or are we talking about political parties?

Every church I’ve ever attended had members…not supporters. Like actual people who made up the body. When you give, you’re giving so this thing you’re a part of is equipped to do the things you believe in. You should not give (10% or 10 cents) if this is not the case.

I'm hearing a whole lotta mealy mouthed justifications on how they think adding this and that get them to "close" to 10%

We do 10 pct plus. Ours is a truly wonderful church, using the money very well.

We give elsewhere also.

“Church of the Bling”

Churches should pay taxes. They’ve become full blown businesses and they flaunt it in our faces
