We left Ponchatoula and drove up to my folks house north of Folsom this morning. I’ve got a very high confidence level my house will be fine and my subdivision has never dealt with flooding in its entire history. I’ve got a whole home generator too.
But I know my parents house won’t flood, and there are zero trees within danger zone of the house, and we’re well north and further east from the center. So at most we spend the night away and go home tomorrow. No big deal for a little inconvenience and peace of mind.

I'll be checking in on this thread regularly. Mandeville resident South of I-12 but we got out on Friday because of the pine trees on our property.

Thanks. Sleeping in Springfield last night was hard. I got the fridge and freezer to lowest setting and the AC down low for the inevitable. I pray for the structure of the house to hold.

There was a wreck on 22 yesterday that knocked power out for a bit.
But got it back on around 5pm yesterday.
Think we drank most of our beer provisions at that time. Lol.
Definitely not excited about a cat5. Pregnant wife and my neighbors have a new born. The women are freaking themselves out.

Yep, potential cat 5 is got me nervous now for sure. Went out back and only 75 degrees temps, only enjoyable thing about this morning
