I imagine trees and power lines are down. I was clearing roads near that area with some other volunteers. And now I’m sitting in my hot arse house because my generator crapped out haha

Thanks for the update and your hard work! Are there lots of trees/power lines down on W 21st near the library as well?

Yes but most have been cleared off the roadway. There’s still some power lines down laying across the road. At least as of 3:00 when I drove down there.

Yes that was me in the white f150. Removing trees in the am. Glad we weren’t home.

We’re chilling in Biloxi hotel room. We had no tree house damage but that was a horrible 12+ hours and even though thankful for no damage today was second hell. Got stuff picked up but no power or even cell service. That loud blowing so long and thinking a tree could come crashing down anytime was damn torture.

Curious to know for everyone who stayed, are you leaving next time for when a major storm is coming? I live in Madisonville and I came to parents house 3 mins away because they have a whole home generator. They have trees all over that could hit there house. It was petrifying every time a gust came through knowing a tree could split the house in half.
My house has zero trees around, and I plan on getting the whole home generator prior to next hurricane season. I said this morning I’d never stay again, however after going to my house and seeing absolutely no damage l, I think I would stay again. I just hate the idea of being away from my property for so long without knowing what’s going on.

would be truly surprised if a lot of cleco customers don’t have power back before a week.
Haven’t seen a single Cleco truck or anyone working in their coverage area. Meanwhile WST has brought in reinforcements from multiple states.
Why are we paying so much extra to have Cleco?

I have one and still left. I’ve been in one Cat 3 and I don’t ever plan on being in another. I just don’t see a reason to stay. My neighbors have been enjoying my A/C and pool but I’m enjoying the beach in SW Florida more.

I’ve been at work in Covington since Saturday, any info on damage or flooding in Ponchatoula? South of 22 but close enough to 55 I can see it from my driveway

CLECO used to be really good. That's why you always hear people talking about "Vieux CLECO."

The wife (no pics) told me she read that Cleco estimates 21 days to get everyone online again.
I was putting a lot of faith in the NHC track. I know it’s just a forecast and not absolute. If it had stayed on the path it was forecast to, we would have maybe had 50-60 mph winds here. The sob fooled everyone. If I knew with a little more warning it was going to take the path that it took, I would have bugged out.
Before next season, there are two trees I am taking down to feel safe enough that the house would be okay. I’m also getting me a hurricane credit card. If I don’t have the cash in hand, I’ll charge my way out of dodge. That was the longest goddamn night of my life, but I had to keep my shite together for the sake of my daughters (no pics). I evacuated for Katrina and Isaac but I ain’t staying for another one. frick that shite.
My son left BR on Friday after classes to come home because it was supposed to be bad there. He would have been better off staying. lol But at least he is here now to help me and his grandpa to clean up messes.
Any baws see those rainbows yesterday evening?

We got any estimate on how hard the winds were actually blowing over here? By time the worst of it got to us, it was dark and power was out so I couldn’t see shite outside. Just the sideways rain hitting the windows
