Looking at the wind forecast bogalusa has gotten as bad as it’s going to. East side of town has power. West side it out. Guess which one I’m on.

The one that smells like crap?

I live in Pineland Park. We evacuated last night because of the trees around our house.

The worst flooding is still to come for the Slidell area. With a storm going this direction, the southwest area around Laplace floods first. Then as the wind changes it goes in a clockwise direction to Tangi/West St Tammany, then to East St Tammany

I rarely smell the mill at my house. But right now I’m on the one that has no power.

How’s the water in Slidell?
Are you asking how a Navy guy lives in Slidell?

He's stationed at The Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School at the Stennis Center. They call it NAVSCIATTS. They train people to use small boats on rivers. The Lower Pearl River valley region has the river, and all kinds of little sloughs they use.
https://www.socom.mil/navsoc/NAVSCIATTS/

He recently moved down there from the JEB at Little Creek-Fort Story in Virginia.

Whatever trees are left in my yard after this are getting plucked ASAP. It's going to look like Paul Bunyan came through. I'm done with this worrying

44 trees. It was my grandparents house they built when nothing was back there on river road. Still plenty left.

I didn’t ask him shite.

I’m worried about flooding, property damage, and lives in shambles. I don’t need a explanation about hydrology or water movement on the lake. I’ve spent a lifetime living on it. Ppl have stress and he triggered me. frick off with your anecdotal comment.

My internet is getting quicker, I'll take that as a sign that we're almost through this.

Looking at the radar it looks like the worst stuff is going to be done in Mandeville in the next 30 min

Anyone in Mandeville have info on if the lake has pushed inward, is it near or past Monroe yet if so?

Also anyone know about Bayou Castine or local River levels? Can’t get anything on the radio or websites.

Well, a tree went across my girlfriend's house. The back bedroom (hers) took the biggest hit. Ceiling has partially collapsed. Part of the front room has cracks in the ceiling. The pine tree also took out my windshield and her passenger side window of her car.

That was 2 hours ago.

Everyone is safe, so that's the important part.

Now we wait until daybreak to assess the damage. Then I have to check my place at the other end of Old Mandeville. I have no idea if I have any issues.

After 2016 and this, I don't know how much more I can take of this, baws.

Glad y’all are ok. One of the biggest dangers. How are y’all doing with the lake surge and flooding?

Do you have a dry room for the night.
