Was not a candidate for lasik, but got ICL done. It was much more expensive than lasik, but I would’ve paid double to have it done.

I got mine 15 years ago.
It’s fading a bit so I started wearing glasses about a year ago. I can go without them if I need to so still WAY better than it was when I could barely see my hand in front of my face.

No way in hell. I'd rather keep my specs.

Has nothing to do with having or not having specs. That's a vitrectomy. They remove vitreous gel from your eyeball or fix a detached retina. I only had a loose glob of gel removed. I was scared as hell. Wasn't nothing to it....felt stupid afterwards. The surgery drugs were great.

I worn glasses since 5th grade and, a few years ago, had a slight cataract in both eyes and had the surgery. Was 56 and easily the youngest person in the waiting room. Easy surgery and I see 20/20 now. I was asleep for both procedures. Still need readers as I didn’t go the near/far option. Insurance covered most. My cost for both was $200.

Got it 15 years ago and one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The surgeon is my Dad’s best friend, so got it for a case of wine.

About $5k when I got it done 15 years ago. Best decision ever.
$5K is the price you’re looking for at least when I got it. Might be up to $7K now, but don’t go bargain shopping. They’re you’re eyes for God’s sake.

Not that, but I've had two cataract surgeries, two Yag laser procedures, a retinal peel to repair a torn retina and two vitrectomy surgeries to clean out the debris from all the combined surgeries and procedures. My vision is amazingly good now at between 20/20 and 20/25.

I need to do LASIK. But I’m kinda scared honestly about having elective work done on my eyes.
You’ll be fine. After cataract surgery and wisdom teeth removal, it’s the most common surgery in the United States.

I’d love to do it, but man fricking with my eyes???? All it takes us one sneeze or cough And out go the lights.
Well LASIK doesn’t really get inside of your eyes, it just peals back the upper layer and reshapes it with the laser. The sneeze may be a problem with cataract surgery however, which almost everyone gets provided you live long enough.

Got it a week and a half ago. It was $4200, paid with money sitting in an old company funded HSA, so according to my wife’s girl math it was free.
The first hour being home, before I was able to nap it off, it felt like my eyes were on fire with someone pouring alcohol on them. That sucked. But I woke up about 3 hours later and felt perfectly fine. Aside from spots of dry eye here and there (less than I expected) they’ve felt like nothing happened and are 20/20.
Do it.
ETA: that cost is all in, including follow ups and a correction if necessary.

I’m in the 1% that it didn’t take. Was great for about a month and then my eyes reverted back. I went thought our vision insurance who had a special going on where it was about $4k but they had a $2k rebate + HSA. My eye dr later told me he wouldn’t have recommended me as a candidate due to the severity of my astigmatism. All lasik did was invert it went from horizontal football to vertical.

12 years and 2 days ago. Paid either $3-4K. Best money I ever spent. Definitely wouldn’t hesitate. I’m fixing to turn 42, and I definitely notice the sharpness decreasing in certain situations. I don’t need readers yet, but I can tell I’m not 20/10 in my left and 20/15 in my right anymore. When I got it, I hoped for 15-20 years of clear vision and no glasses.
