at this point, I don't believe that there are many square inches of this planet that man has not crawled over... and generally has left some trash behind to prove it. I don't think anything as large as a breeding population of big foot(s) could exist without us having at least some evidence of it.

The species lived in what is now China, India, and Vietnam. No north American proof, or anywhere else.
World is a lot smaller these days, especially over the past century. if one did exist, I think we would have seen it.

A guy (Florida fan) that works with my wife really believes they exist. He also believes in ghosts. He's in his 50's, been married for most of his life, makes a very good living and is an otherwise normal human being. It's hard for me to make conversation with him when I see him in social settings because I just want to frick with him about bigfoot.

There are only about 100 snow leopards, way up in some desolate Russian mountains, but the Planet Earth boys got close up hi-def video of some.
There is one jaguar that sometimes roams up from Mexico into southern Arizona, and a researcher has captured pics of him and even found the remains of a bear that he killed, complete with jaguar scat containing bear hair.
Yet not one damned game cam or security system has a glimpse of a bigfoot.
