Born in Louisiana, left for college and then the military via OCS and flight school followed by active duty and several moves in between it all. Thankfully was blessed with a great girl who stayed with me through the good and bad with me being gone a lot. We now live in Telluride, CO. Luckily she never wanted to move back to Louisiana because once I was gone I wasn’t interested in ever coming back permanently.

I spent my first 36 years in Louisiana. Took me about 10 years to convince my wife to move, and we finally did a year and a half ago.

We moved year and a half ago too after finally convincing my wife. She was still on the fence even through the moving process but now that we’re settled, she’s says it’s the best decision ever and now has NO desire to go back, even just for visiting.

Graduated LSU and moved to Dallas on the assumption that I could find a job in a bigger market. Came back six months later to work for my dad.

Moved in 1984, at 35.
Since have lived in
Iowa,
Kentucky,
Georgia,
Florida,
Texas.
The two places I would not move back to are Louisiana and Iowa.
LA just too corrupt ignorant and backward
IA too cold and isolated.
Thumbs up to all the others, but TX likely our last stop.

Doesn’t give me much hope for the future that fig responses to everything inhabits the first page of the OT.

Our society is ultra weak!

I did the opposite. All of my family is from the south. Dad from oak ridge Tennessee and mom from Tuscaloosa Alabama. But Dad had a job in Chicago when I was born. But moved to Louisiana when I was six. So was raised here and considered my self from here only because I converted both of them to being LSU fans.

But my sister got married when we moved and stayed there. She has a Wisconsin nasel voice I tease her about.

Monroe.

Then baton rouge for school and new Orleans for the summers.

Needed a job after graduating so moved to Houston for several years.

Got a job offer in Nashville and I fell in love and never left

Grew up in LC. Moved to Laffy in 79, finished geology at USL and worked until laid off in 88. Had no prospects, literally. Friends from school living and working in Colorado got me an interview, and got the job and have been here since. Don't regret it. Not going back.

Grew up in Monroe. Moved to Austin for work. Love it here but it’s expensive as hell. But anywhere is better than Monroe.

Grew up in Louisiana and subsequently bounced around the country for a 30-year engineering career. Retired several months ago and am seriously considering moving back. For all of its faults, Louisiana will always be my home.

Born in Houston but lived in Louisiana during high school and undergrad years. Left Louisiana for a military career. Live in Converse, TX (San Antonio) now. We thought about moving to Baton Rouge to be closer to family, but Louisiana cannot offer me nor my wife (no pics) nearly enough money.

Raised in NOLA (during better days) and moved to South Florida days after Katrina ... already had a home here.
