6'1 220, I feel great but I am borderline obese?
If I lose 30 pounds I will still be considered overweight even though I would easily fit in to 32" waist pants.

Seriously.
People complain about people fat acceptance movements in women but that is exactly what is happening in this thread.
No self-reflection.

This report is interesting, especially the chart having the 1923 mean BMI at 25 (or the current overweight/normal weight border).
LINK
The WHO study that shifted the overweight/normal border from BMI 27 to BMI 25 appears to (for males) have a sample size of n=24. This is no where close enough to start making policy decisions based on. Other studies have not replicated the Garrow results (body fat to BMI correlations of 0.943 for males and 0.955 for females).

This isn't to say there isn't an obesity epidemic. Your eyes can tell you that, and I don't think very many people are in the obese range who aren't actually overweight. But I think the overweight/normal weight border has flaws for way more people than just the miniscule number of elite athletes and body builders.

So, Am I the only OTer with enough balls to tell the truth? Everyone is either skinny or 10 pounds overweight. Sure, y'all all telling the truth.

I'm 6' 180, super skinny irl but apparently borderline overweight according to this chart.

Scruffy was telling the truth.
5’7” 156.5 lbs this morning.
Why would someone even make that height up?

Why would anybody want to make that weight either. That is girl weight

Nope I'm 5'6 210 LBS. High school was 175-85 depending upon what sport season it was. In great shape then, stocky and pretty much all muscle.
Did this 10 years ago for life insurance and the guy got everything, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, blood work, and non smoker. Was looking great until he asked my weight, and then it was wow buddy your obese...
I don't know any guys I grew up with near my height that were under 175 lbs. Of course we were all encouraged to gain weight to play ball, we lifted and go big....
As a grown man I'm certainly over weight, but can still run 3 miles without cramping and don't fee out of shape... Still look better than most dad bod types, just think this is an interpretation more than normal for athletic men.

Scruffy doesn’t want a woman who weighs that much.

I told the truth.
I'm just under 6' and I float around ~180. I'd like to lose 5-10 lbs.
This was a few weeks ago. Please excuse the fat baby and fat dog.

Chart and general BMI is for dudes who don't workout (lift weights)
According to chart I'm "overweight" yet with all visible abs. lol
Weight is weight whether it's fat or muscle. The point is it's hard on your joints and your body in general. It also requires a lot of calorie intake so it's wasteful and expensive in regards to your grocery bill

Dude my 14 year old son is 5'9"

I have a lot of fat to lose right now, but I’ll always be on the higher side of the range. I’ve gained a lot of miscle from lifting over the years. If I stop lifting, I would eventually fall into normal range. But, until then, I’m working my arse off. Literally. Down to inches on my waist.
