How many of you are in a sub-division and insist on parking in the street?

I swear, my entire neighborhood has at least a 2-3 car garage, a drive way that can hold 3-4 cars, and they still insist on parking in the street.

it really pisses me off when a string of houses do it, too, and they're across from one another creating a maze and a single lane of traffic.

OT response... (probably): But I have kids that leave after me in the morning. I don't want to make them move their car out of my way in the morning on my way to work.

My response:

1+ acre lots and restrictions against it. No one is parking on the street thankfully

Doesn't seem to be common in my neighborhood thankfully. When I go visit my parents however, it's a plague in their neighborhood. Annoys the shite out of me seeing completely empty driveways and I secretly hope their cars get smashed.

Our HOA doesn’t allow that. It was important to us to live in a neighborhood without cars perpetually in the driveways and on the street. Looks nicer. Adds to property value.

I park in the street as I have 5 cars and drivers. No way to avoid it. I’m use to it as I grew up in NOLA and that’s the only way to go.

As in, you're not allowed to have guests to your home because they aren't allowed to park in the neighborhood?

I live at the very end of the subdivision and park 1 car where the road ends. HOA sent a few letters years ago about it but they gave up trying to get me to change my ways. I don't see a problem with it because nobody drives all the way to the end anyway other than my wife and I.

As in we all have long and wide driveways so there is no need to park on the street. I can fit about 8-10 cars in my driveway.

The restriction is no overnight street parking but no one is parking on the street regularly if at all so its not even a concern.

That’s what we have. That’s one of the things I looked for when buying a house this past year. About the only time I’ve seen parking in the street is if someone is having a big party with lots of cars or work trucks that are doing work on a house.

there's one cock sucker that lives on a corner lot. he likes to park his truck at the damn stop sign because it's easier to leave the sub-division as compared to backing out of his drive way.

Mine is that people won’t use the fricking sidewalk. Rolling their dogs around in strollers in the street. Use the sidewalk asshoes!

We have a couple on our street that always park on the street. I don’t mind a few, but I’ve been house hunting and turned into a neighborhood that had cars parked up and down the streets and immediately wrote it off.

Anyone who routinely parks in the street is an absolute piece of trash.

Most of these houses with garages turn out to be extra storage and cars parked in the driveway…..

I do almost everything 100% of the time because the fricking developer/home builders planted a bunch of invasive Chinese Elms in our neighborhood, and the one in my neighbors yard drops shite on my car almost year round. The worst plant ever created.

57 homes in our subdivision. Zero people park in the street. Often if someone is having a party they post in the neighborhood FB group apologizing for the cars all over the street, which does seem unnecessary.

I have five cars here and none are parked past the front corner of the house.

A new filing of a nearby subdivision looks like crap because there are cars parked in front of every house.
