I own 2 that I bought myself, and inherited around 10-12 from my deceased father. All are hunting shotguns/rifles, and about half of those inherited were passed down to him from his grandfather/older brothers. I even have his first shotgun, and my grandfathers first shotgun (a crack-barrel 4-10). Although I don't hunt much, I keep them. Kind of a family heirloom/nostalgia thing. I couldn't get rid of them if I wanted to.
I grew up around guns, so they do not scare me, nor do I think they should be outlawed. On the other hand, I can completely understand someone growing up in a different way than myself and being "scared" of guns. They are a powerful, lethal thing. That has the possibility of scaring anyone. I have no problem with the implementation of sensible gun policy. Hell, in Louisiana, where I purchased both of my handguns (one for home, and one for car. I do not concealed carry), guns aren't even "registered" to the purchaser. The gun store owner made it very clear to me that he only needed my information to run a background check and that no one could ever trace this glock back to me. How is that reasonable/sensible/whatever? I can understand the opposition to gun control. Most gun owners are sane, safe, law-abiding citizens that use guns as a hobby. There is nothing wrong with that. I don't propose to take guns away, but lets use a little more discretion. On one hand I dont think I should be able to walk into a store/gun show and purchase a non-hunting related firearm in 15 minutes. On the other hand that is a freedom we've been entitled to for generations. It what we are used to. No one has ever liked change. I'm kind of torn between how I was raised and what I think would work.

Mass round clips should be outlawed. There is no reason to have more than 5 to 7 rounds in a civilian rifle. The same for semi-automatic hand guns.
frick you man. Im am a responsible, American adult. My 18 gauge has never killed anyone. It's a 20 volt semi-automatic, high quality piece of machinery. And for your information, they're called "strips" and not "clips" you ignorant piece of shite.

FYI, this is the "high capacity" model. Over 100 rounds per strip. It really is about how skilled the operator is though. Ive put 168 rounds downrange in 1 min with a strip magazine change.

How do you define a "non-hunting related firearm"? I predator hunted, hog hunted and allowed my S.O. to deer hunt last season with my AR.

Well, one thing about this thread. We know who supports the Dems with a broken mine.

Your a real winner for calling people this

I wish somebody would say this to my face in real life like you say it sitting behind a keyboard. How bout respecting other peoples opinions even if they are different then yours.
I see why you have to have a gun if this is how you speak to others in everyday life.

I will respect your opinion when you educate yourself enough on a subject to form a valid opinion. So far, you are spewing the same ignorance on the subject that the media does so to me it seems that's where you're getting your talking points instead of forming your own.

Okay, tough guy. What are you gonna do about it?

Not every opinion is deserving of respect, especially those not based on fact.

Luckily the shooter didn't have access to a Ghost Gun. It shoots a .30 caliber clip to disperse 30 bullets in half a second. Thirty magazine clip in half a second!

He lost me at clip and automatic
Next he will say that "assault rifles", as the media currently misclassifies them, are more dangerous than a hunting rifle.

Bigger question is why would you own just one? Gotta have a tool for every job

I have a problem with the 30/50 round clip automatic weapons though.
Sweet baby Jesus. It's so easy to figure out who gathered all of their gun knowledge from MSNBC. Let's break this down a little for the ignorant liberals.
1. There isn't a 30 or 50 round clip. A clip is just a simple piece of metal that holds several rounds (usually 10 or less) together. With a stripper clip you push the rounds off and into the chamber. With an en bloc clip the entire clip is inserted and it ejects when the last round is fired.
B. I believe the term you were looking for is "magazine". A magazine holds anywhere from 5 to 100 rounds. You load the magazine, insert it into the chamber, and fire until it is empty. Then you release the mag and insert another.
III. An automatic weapon is one capable of firing continuously until either you remove your finger from the trigger or you run out of ammunition. A semi-automatic weapon is capable of firing ONE round for every pull of the trigger. The weapon used in Orlando was a semi-automatic rifle.
4. Magazine capacity wouldn't mean shite in a situation like this. If you give me three 30-round mags or eighteen 5-round mags I'm still going to cause the same amount of damage in a setting such as this. It's a large, unarmed crowd of scared people. They are all running and hiding... not waiting for the shooter to reload so that they can subdue him. A well trained shooter could drop a 5-round mag and reload another in about 1 second. Magazine capacity is an asinine argument in most mass casualty shootings.

Where would you like to meet up? I can answer all your questions about firearms since you obviously have no clue, you ignorant piece of shite.

So i need an agenda to let people voice their own opinion and not get called ignorant when its different than others? I support people owning guns but with some limits. Should the government take them away? no? should their be limits? yes. I hate it when posters like the one i pointed out call someone ignorant for different views.

I don't own any. I am not a hunter and have absolutely no interest in owning a gun. To each his own.
