Rented one on outdoorsy.com from a guy in Lafayette, La. Dude was great to deal with. Took a drive with my family to Disney World. Definitely would do it again. 7 days with the extra mileage was around 3500 bucks. It was cheaper than if we flew and much more relaxing.

Back in the 80s this is how my friends and I did things like Mardis gras, or trips out of town for ball games.

Ive rented them 3 times. Did a 4000 mile road trip from BR to Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands, Cloudcroft, Saguaro NP, Sedona, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, Painted Desert, Petrified Forest, Route 66, and back to BR. Was a fun trip

How long was the trip? Did you feel like it was enough time? What was the rough itinerary?

My niece has announced that if we win the lottery we will be living the RV life. My sister and I would prefer an nicely decked out Sprinter van for comfort while driving and then staying at hotels most nights. Could still bunk in the camper every now and then if we wanted to.

I pull my 5th wheel at 70 max on the interstate. About 65 on 2 lane highways. You do not want to be in a rush and get trailer tires overheated.

If I need to take a break, pull into a rest stop and I can access the master bedroom without opening any slides.

The tires on the A class I had was only rated to 70.

This C is rated higher.

Right. They're all different. Pushers can generally handle higher tire temps than pullers.

If you're going tobgobon a long trip with a bumper pull or 5th wheel--a trailer tire pressure monitoring system is worth the cost.

A blowout will ruin your day and will more than likely cause damage to the camper.

I liked the A ok, but never giid about the safety factor.
Being the first one at the crash site is not my idea of a good tine.

Much happier with this Super C.

Tire ratings are a real issue for class a. Forest River OEM tires were rated for 65 mph. Had sidewall blow outs on two of them at speed. Replace with Michelin rated at 85 mph. not cheap

We have a 32 foot travel trailer. Bought it new in 2017. We go quite a bit and even a couple of times during the winter. I live about an hour from the beach, so we have a spot that we keep it for 2 months during the summer. We go back and forth a lot.

We stay pretty close most of our trips. Usually not more than 6 hours from home. Once a year we will take a long trip. The fartherest so far is Texas. We really want to take a 3 week trip West to see some National Parks.

I think it was 10 days. We covered a lot of ground but it was just the two of us trying to cover a lot of ground.

Enough time? Depends on if youve been to any of those places before. Some are really just the kind of place you could spend a couple hours in.

We had a blast, though. It felt like a mid 40s couple doing a teenage road trip. It was also at the height of covid so it was the kind of trip you could do without worrying about restrictions.

Day 1 - leave BR at 5 PM and drive straight through to Carlsbad Caverns. We did take a nap at a rest area. Then drive to Cloudcroft and spent the night.
Day 2 - White Sands and then to Tuscon to Saguaro for a night.
Day 3 - Saguaro to Sedona
Day 4 - Sedona
Day 5 - Sedona to Grand Canyon
Day 6 Grand Canyon
Day 7 - Grand Canyon to Monument Valley
Day 8 - Monument Valley
Day 9 - Monument Valley to Petrified Forest/Painted Desert to some town in New Mexico
Day 10 - drive all the way back

Is this because you don't enjoy it as much as you thought you would, or because you lack the time? I'm on a school schedule, so I get a week at Thanksgiving, 2 weeks at Christmas, Spring Break, a few 3-4 day weekends scattered throughout the year, and the entire summer off. To be honest I get kind of bored. I already enjoy tent camping as long as the weather is nice. With heat and A/C, my traveling/camping/exploring windows would be a lot wider.

It’s stressful as shite to pull places, especially over the basin bridge. A lot of work to set up, take down and I do it solo.

Has 2 ACs and gets hot as shite during the summer.

I’m over it.

75 you're braver than me. I can't see myself going faster than 60-65.

I've got a 40' 5th wheel toy hauler. I've taken it as far as Nashville, been all over Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas with it. We were using it a lot for my kids racing, but he has backed off on that recently.
We try to get out with it once a month, but this year has been busy and we haven't used it at all. But we are taking it out next weekend outside of San Antonio in Bandera. We also have trips booked to the coast and back to Nashville this summer. There are easier and cheaper ways to travel, but we really enjoy the camper.

Cloudcroft.... Been there several times. the last time, coming up from the Southeast, the trusty gps took us up the mountain on a logging road that's was barely a single lane gravel. No ability to turn around. Met a car coming down the mountain, that had to back up about a mile to find a place to pass. At the top, there were several adventure travel groups getting set up on 4 wheelers to ride down the mountain logging road. They were very surprised to see a 35 foot class A, pulling a 2012 Colorado up the road.

GPS can mess with you, it had happened previously on Vancouver Island.

That makes sense, I suppose. I've pulled a 10,000 lb. boat through I-35 construction with narrowed lanes through Dallas with white knuckles, so I have no urge to haul a monstrosity of a trailer again. That's why the ones that I'm looking at are tiny and light. They also have electric tongue and leveling jacks. Seems like it would be a fairly simple set-up.

Sounds terrifying. I've had a bad enough time in just my truck on those lanes.
