Growing up I was taught there was the Southern Ocean. I think it has been debated about it over the years. Anyway, I called out my kids teacher over it and started a big ordeal at the school, teachers and admin were fighting over it.

We were always taught that there were five. I believe the Southern Ocean was referred to as the Antarctic Ocean back in the day.

How can it be an ocean if it has a giant continent in the middle of it? Like boat said it's just the bottom of the 3 big ones. #notmyocean

The number of geography challenged people in this world amazes me.
At the very least, everyone should be able to look at a map and locate all 5 oceans and all 7 continents.
