Because it has worked really well for 16 years.

We do, because it's easier to keep track of frivolous "spending money" when it's in separate accounts. We also have a joint checking account that we use for joint expenses, and a joint savings.

Because my house is paid off and she pays cell phone and utilities and I pay insurance?

Get out of my head, man.

We each had one at the same place before we got married. We kept them after to use one as a savings account to park money in. Our names are now on both accounts. No "my money" arrangement.

Me.

Once he got his ss # I kicked him out of mine. He would spend based off what was showing in the account without asking if I had any checks out.

We did start a joint one this spring for green card purposes, but don't keep much $ in it.

We do

Mainly cause we just have never gotten around to joining them. Seems to work for us just fine with the separate accounts though. If that changes we'll try joint.

We keep ours separate. We both spent our whole lives budgeting for one and enjoy keeping things that way. We take any expenses that we both contribute to (daycare, mortgage, car) and cut it down the middle and one of us writes the other one a check.

With the chase phone app it's so easy to just instantly send each other money as well.
