I saw a video where a gorilla grabbed a piece of bamboo and broke it...like a twig. Some scientists took that bamboo from the same tree and tested it’s tolerance before snapping. It took the force of 1200lbs to break it. The humans would get their skulls caved in with one punch.

I've seen this, fricking insane.

I just don't see a scenario where 20 men can beat the gorilla. I've been face to face with a male silverback at a zoo and the size of them is jaw dropping.

Nope nope nope

In his prime, could Mike Tyson knock one out in one punch?

A large male gorilla and no tools allowed? Not possible, if you ask me. After seeing the first 10 or so guys get torn limb from limb, the rest won't be very gung-ho about trying to grab one of his arms or legs. Unless you have hundreds of mindless drones who don't care about pain or death, you can't really do it. You're going to have a bunch of dudes dismembered or dead before the gorilla gets too tired to really fight back.

great post and why I love the OT....

I don't see how this could be accomplished unless it is a closed environment where the ape can be cornered and then overwhelmed.

The first few in will be FUBAR, but, then the mass can overwhelm the ape. 15-20 dudes

In the open...not gonna happen with 15-20. Minimum 50 and better be all at once.

The problem is getting enough people close enough to the animal to do something. Even ignoring the fact that the gorilla would be caving in skulls and ripping off limbs...getting that many people into such a small space would be too crowded for them to do any thing effectively.

Someone should do a Pay Per View for this. Give 10k sheckles to 30 dudes each....along with a waiver

oh i agree i was just saying that once the casualties start piling up and a few restrict the gorilla, it's eventually going to overcome him

i wasn't trying to say 20 guys alone could do it, just that 20 dead baws on top could restrict him enough for 10 more to kill it

*ETA: that would probably take 100 total to get there

I'll set the over/under at 20.

After the gorilla killed the first 2 or 3 the remaining would flee and realize their drunking plan had no chance at success.

Depends. Is the gorilla on the quad or not?

I'd still say 30-40 in the open. I mean we're talking people are willing to do this fo whatever reason? Some people will certainly die, but it's possible.

If you're talking about people who value their own life, yeah it will take a bunch as most will scram.

Does not skip arm day.

The real issue here is the shoulders. His power to punch down and up is going to wreck shop.

I'll rephrase the question:

How many people could a gorilla dismember before it gets bored/tired and decides to quit?

That's basically your answer, because unless a gorilla loses interest or gasses, it's just gonna keep ripping limbs off.

The only way would be if:

1. The men had absolutely zero fear of dying

2. The were smart enough to work together with a preconceived plan

Their only chance IMO is if they create a giant human mass. Think like a Spartan wall, and all converge on the gorillas at once. Many would die in the process, but if they stuck with the plan the shear mass would overwhelm the gorilla eventually. Some people would probably die from suffocation also.

Again, they would have to have absolutely no fear of dying, and all 100% in on the plan.

Actually I'd love to see a man get mauled by a Gorilla just to gauge it's strength. Trying to find a video online.

I do not because that is a gorilla. However, I was replying to the scenario of fighting a Grizzly.
