How many Funko Pops did you add to your collection for Christmas?

I usually don't care that grown men collect things but this is one I never understood. It's a rubber doll with zero function that will have zero value just like beanie babies. At least cards, comics, etc can hold some value and even give you entertainment assuming you read the comic. These are ugly hunks of rubber from pop culture that you put on a shelf. That's it.

I’ve seen those things before but didn’t know they’re called Funko Pops. Seems like a better name would be Flunko Pop.

$210k sale

They’re a dying brand but they are nowhere near beanie babies in terms of value

Probably more like watches someone else bang his wife while staring at his Flunko Pops.

The company that makes them has made billions selling hunks of pop culture rubber to soy boys.

That's what people who had "rare" beanie babies thought too

I had never heard of them until this post. At least most of these dudes aren't reproducing.

Did a beanie baby ever sell for more than 20 bucks? You said they’re worthless, there are dozens of multiple thousand dollar sales online from a quick google search

Ty’s Princess Bear for $20,000. The sale took place on eBay in November 2022.

Yes

Nah man, there's no way anything like that is going on in that bed. Those things would fall everywhere.

We got a few of the small ones as stocking stuffers.

The Funko Pop advent calendars are a huge hit with my girls, and are honestly better quality than most of the other types of advent calendars we've purchased. Certainly not starting a collection though by any means.

Yes. Beanie Baby had some "rare" ones that were all the craze then the market crashed due to oversaturation. When you could get Beanies in Happy Meals was the peak and then it all died from being everywhere.

Funk Pop makes millions of these things for every pop culture item you can think of past and present. Literally oversaturation. Just because some sell for a lot now does not mean they will retain their value just like Beanies. Hell, just like NFTs too if you want something more recent. You said yourself the craze is dying down.

How many Funkos do you own?

My stepkid likes these. It’s a cheap and easy gift. My husband even has a few select ones.
