If I'm really drunk I'm usually taking down 4-5 beers and half a fifth of brown liquor or vodka. If I do that 2 days in a row, I'm in trouble on Sunday, still brain dead on Monday, and still feel tired on Tuesday.

Yuuuup. Same here.

I'm 41, takes me about 4 days to recover. ... use to take about 5 hours of sleep. Now it takes 40 hours of sleep, a bottle of tylenol and a case of water.

I’d feel like absolute shite if I drank 14-15 beers at this point. Not even from a strictly hungover perspective.

Go real hard on Saturday and I am 100% useless Sunday, about 70% normal on Monday, and back to normal on Tuesday

I've made in a personal mission in my life to find the perfect hangover cure, somehow make it available without a prescription, and become rich.

For now though, here are the tricks from TheCaterpillar's experience as a high functioning alcoholic.

1. Drink water between beverages. Sometimes this is hard to do and/or annoying and/or easy to forget. But, its the best preventative, as a hangover, in my non-scientific opinion, is 95% dehydration. I rarely do this, but when I do, I love myself for it.

2. Drink 24 ounces of water (or pedialyte), eat some greasy food, take 4 advil (not tylenol, which scars your liver when mixed with alcohol), and 2 dramamine before bed.

3. Wake and bake (not an option for some)

4. Light dosage of xanax in the morning (not an option for some)

5. 4 more advil, 24 ounces of water (or pedialyte), and greasy food as soon as you wake up.

6. Go back to sleep after your morning feeding and medication

7. Wake up from nap and take a hot bath or sit in sauna to sweat it out (or exercise if you're feeling frisky)

8. Continue to hydrate and eat all day. Never let yourself get hungry or nausea gets worse

9. A "release" before bed

Depends on how late I stay up drinking. I can drink a shitload but as long as I quit drinking around midnight I won’t have much of a hangover the next day.

As long as I drink plenty of water, I'm usually good by the end of the next day. Jello shots are for women baw.

I got after it with a good bit of bourbon Friday night. My wife had an event she was putting on all day Saturday, so I had to get up at 6 with our 2 year old and entertain him all day. I'm not sure I could pick a worse hell than taking care of and entertaining a 2 year old all day with a hangover. I couldn't drink Saturday night, felt good when I woke up Sunday

That's when you break out the Moana/Frozen movies, some Triaminic "because they are sniffling", and some noise cancelling headphones

If I'm going all out, I usually stay up until the sun comes up. Go out on a Friday night, and I'm down all day Saturday, sluggish Sunday, and about 80% by Monday. Most important thing is what I do on the Saturday I go out. If I get up and go do something, my down time decreases significantly.

Never get sick or a headache. My hangovers started after getting on seizure meds. They are all just the cloudy brain feeling

Did someone already take your man card, or do we have to handle that?

It's pretty standard, but a lot of people don't do it. I always make my gf drink an Emergen-C before bed if we go out. My shite is more a foggy head than anything. The only thing I have to worry about is a seizure, which I've been able to avoid for the past 7 years

People sometimes make jello shots. Don't be a douche and turn them down because you aren't secure with your manhood

I've had some decent jell-o shots.

I'm a straight liquor or craft beer kind of guy, so this isn't really my thing, but the hipsters have re-invented jell-o shots at some of these Nashville bars.

They have Amaretto ones, Baileys and whiskey ones, etc. My wife likes these margarita flavored ones at this one place. You don't just swallow it, you eat it like Jell-O so you can taste the margarita

I’m usually good after 1 day and a good nights sleep. I don’t hardly drink anymore, but had about 15 beers Friday and didn’t eat much. Was bed bound for most of the day Saturday, but back to normal going for a 10 mile run Sunday morning.

I’m really active so maybe I metabolize it faster, but definitely down for the count for a solid day. Always good after that tho. I’m 41.
