A lot. Seriously we are pretty heavy readers likely well over 500 but I’m not counting e books which are over 100 as well.
And that’s after the divorce where a lot of books went with my ex.

Just bought and re-read Catcher in the Rye a few weeks ago to see if I missed "something" the first time around. Still didn't get it the second time.
Holden is searching for meaning in his life after the death of his brother. He's too old for the blissful ignorance of adolescence, too young for the independence of adulthood. Note that he still dreams of an idyllic future where he can save younger children from the hard truths of adulthood (as the catcher in the rye) but when he plays at being an adult in the city, even trying to "rescue" the prostitute, he fails miserably.
His conversation with Mr. Antolini is actually the crux of the entire book - a father figure trying to explain to him exactly where he is at in life and how he can move forward, but he's too sleepy to listen. Of course, there is the dark side of this conversation where we aren't sure if Antolini is trying to take advantage of him.

Close to 400 I’m sure. I have almost every book I’ve ever read. Once I’ve read a book, I can’t get rid of it.
Even the shitty ones.
I’ve got books that I checked out from the library and ended up paying the “lost” fee on.
My wife says eventually every wall will be bookshelves.
Now I mostly read on Kindle so that’s help to cut down on the physical collection.

Probably around 200 or so, but lost at least 100 when Katrina hit and flooded my ground floor.
Some of the books I have were in my house as a kid and at 66, I'm no kid any more.

Literally about 350. Books are also where I hide my valuables.

At one time, way too many. When I retired, I passed on to my coworkers lots of work related books and journals.
Probably need to go through and thin out what's left
in the house.

You didn't sort by author's last name or by genre, you have both Mini Bar Mixology and Stop Drinking, and your Harry Potter books are in reverse order.
Godless heathen.

I also noticed a swastika and "Gone With the Wind" are very predominant.
Oh, and the top shelf reads "Cock" As in, Alfred Hitchcock.
And those are CD's on the bottom shelf
