We’ve been thinking of buying a house but are getting priced out. For anything reasonable, our commutes will be 1 hour one way and I’m not sure if that’s sustainable. Can’t carpool since it’s 1 hour opposite direction. It’s also super traffic and not many miles so I have to focus on the drive sadly.

It's about 10-15 minutes to the office and about 5 miles in distance. I don't go in every day anymore though.

My wife commute is an hour. Mine is a walk from the bedroom to the office. She also makes more than me and cooks dinner. I am waiting for her to wise up.

This. And it is 100% worth the drive. I get to calm down and think on the way to work and I get to unwind and brush off the day on the way home.

people here will act like a one hour commute is normal/healthy but it's not. have you considered learning how to code?

Mandeville to the west bank. About an hour with traffic. Not bad. I don't know what life is like NOT having an hour commute. I don't mind it though.

Yes indeed.
I also love Libby my Liberry app. The Free audio books can e checked out on the app just like real books from the liberry. These are amazing for commuting. I learn a shite ton and it makes the commute fly by.

35-40 minutes each way. About to accept a position that will be 1:05 each way. Commute is worth it to not live in Jersey.

Three hours from the front door to the Era heliport in Houma. Then about 1 to 2 hours of waiting in the heliport and it's a 1.5hr flight to my drillship.
