First time hosting Thanksgiving. Told everybody we will be eating at noon.

This is why you fry them, you can just drop it in the hot grease frozen.

Turkeys thaw in the fridge at a rate of about 4-5 pounds per day. So a 15# turkey needs to be moved from freezer to refrigerator about 3 days before cooking

I started thawing mine on Monday, 15 pounds. Brined it last night, injected it this morning and put it in the oven around 0620. Should be ready by 10.

Start boiling it in a crawfish pot with your onions and roux now..You’ll have a half arse gumbo by noon.

You can speed it up by covering it in water like in an icechest.

After it softens up. Take it out and starting running water inside the cavity to thaw out the middle
