My mother in law went to emergency after hours clinic. They told her she has pneumonia and gave her antibiotics. They stuck the long up her nose and told her she doesn’t have it. I thought it took a few days for results?

Best way to tell is to let her cough in your face- if it has a slight sweet smell she has the rona

They came out with a quick test a couple of weeks ago. It is just as fast as a flu test.

Depends on the lab equipment they have.

My hospital has one that has a 6 hour turn around time.

And we just got one last week that has a 45 minute turn around time.

Are these accurate / expensive / readily available?

Seems like this would be something beneficial to a nursing home

I think they have one that’s an hour now. My pops is on the physician board at Ocshner and was telling me about it. Not sure how prevalent it is at the moment though.

If you die of anything it’s positive for corona

It's kind of like those vote counts from East St. Louis or Gary, IN that always seem to come in late... just not enough equipment or something.

No idea. All I know is when we got it we were the only hospital in our state to have it.

Now that may have changed since we got it though.

DEpends on what test they are using. Most emergency clinics can rule you in or out in under an hour now.
