Probably 10+ years. I recall stumbling across this site in the early 2000s but didn't like the format at all (more similar to reddit?). I spent most of my time on another LSU site but then started lurking more often when it changed and became obvious that it had many more users than any other LSU site (by far).

Awhile, and then I saw yet another goddamned thread about the T-Rex scene in Jurassic Park not making sense.
They show you a long shot of it in daylight. The turn is where the cliff is, you can see the tree tops, and the actual paddock is flush against the fence.
Rex eats the goat which the first car lost power by, smashes through eats genardo, terrorizes the kids, and pushes the car forward into the turn where it goes over the cliff.

truth. i had an account with 1 post for about a year before this one. i don't know why i couldn't have come up with something more clever than lsu girl after lurking for so long.

I lurked for a while. Read Dandy Don daily in the mornings (father, not son). That's how I stumbled upon TD. First year or so I only checked the Rant for football info, followed the in-game threads on Sat. when I was at work and the plays/info were faster than espn.
First OT thread that ever captivated me was the Mickey Shunick one. The King threads. The guy who was outed when he lied about hooking up w/ his girl's younger sister at a family outing. But since I had nothing to add, I just read them.
Finally signed up when an Instagram post of mine was liked by TD (prob Larry Leo).

Never really lurked. Signed up in 2012 to comment on tRant once in a while, but then stopped posting for a long time. When I came back during the Miles firing/coach search last year, I discovered the OT but realized I should probably not have a TD username with my real name in it here so I switched to this

I posted here a few times before they started making people register. Then, I lurked but soon just forgot about it since I couldn't post. After a while, when all other sites went to registration, I gave in and signed up.
I got banned with my first post, a thread I started on the rant asking "Could we fire Miles and get Saban back?" after he left the NFL.
In retrospect, they should have pinned that thread.
