Alys beach is on arguably one of the nicest stretches of beach and gulf in the continental US. These clowns have no clue they just make the same tired jokes

Say what you want about Alys. It is a quality, high end development. It isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but when it comes to beach property it doesn’t get much better.

Yeah, I'm sure its swell if your only reference points are Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and Panama City Beach.

In no way is there anything like Alys Beach or even Rosemary in any of those places. I’m sure you’re the epitome of a cultured world traveler though.

Alys Beach is very nice. I preferred to spend the money that a smallish place on Alys Beaxh would cost, on a much bigger vacation house on a lake with a boat in Alabama.

To each his own, but no matter what the comparison is Alys Beach holds their own.

This makes perfect sense. A rational post that isn’t full of BS and envy

Generational wealth and/or business write-off would be among my first two guesses.

So where do y’all think the next big place to appreciate and become popular is?

Croatia. I just got back. It’s about 100% populated by Croatians, so very low crime. It is every bit as beautiful as the Greek Islands.

If you are looking for something closer to home I suggest Bentonville Arkansas.

trying to start my own business but the barrier of entry $$$ is keeping me working for the man for now. And the barrier of entry is purely $$$ for various licenses and such. I'm in the spend money to make money area now.

That’s what the SBA is for. Go borrow the money. Go to a bank and ask them about SBA loans. If they don’t do it they will refer you to another bank.

That’s what I and my partners did, and it worked out great.

Just off the top of my head here’s a couple occupations of people I know with beach homes:

2 professionals that never had kids probably make $200k year total. Big savers
Many doctors- most of which sold another vacation home elsewhere or moved up
Multiple dentists- one guy owns 8 practices in a state, one is also married to a dentist
Vp at a soft drink company
Multiple commercial property/ apt complex owners. Know one guy that sold a 700 unit complex in Atl
Quite a few family trusts from parents
Owner of a large screen printing business that has major brick and mortar retailers as a client

Nothing is that crazy. A lot of people love modestly at home and have a nice vacation home. Big cities have a ton of wealthy people, gulf coast is a funnel to a lot of big cities for vacations.
