You have always been one of the most “real” parents I know. And I respect the hell out of it. It’s refreshing when a parent says “You know what fricking sucks about having kids?” instead of “OMG GREATEST TREASURE IN LIFE”

Our best friends are very honest about parenthood and it makes being around them and their kids a blast.

You're saying that redneck and his wife will be the weird old couple (like the Snells on Ozark)? I agree.

Some people won't have kids obviously but I'd be willing to bet that a majority of the people in this thread without kids will have them at some point.

This is a bet I'll personally take. Want my Venmo?

The worst part about this is that it has been hard on my kids getting knocked out of their routine and you can’t explain to them why.

I have enjoyed the extra time I get to spend with them. They are a pain in my arse but they are my primary source of happiness. I actually feel bad for those that have to live in isolation, particularly those that live in cities and don’t have an outlet like you do getting out on the water.

Agreed. I'm not normally one to be all sentimental, but frick am I glad I'm not single right now Being in some small arse apartment in a city, while single, sounds like a horrible quarantine.

Ain't nothing wrong with a 3:30 happy hour. Although I miss doing it at an actual bartop around people :(

This has been hard. Mine has been regressing in a lot of areas. My wife is working from home and on days where I still have to physically go in to work, he sits in front of Disney+ all day.

He was doing very well with potty training with daycare, but is regressing pretty bad with that and behavior with his routine being all jacked up.

There’s enough miserable people with kids in this world. I don’t have to add to that statistic.

Or maybe miserable people will simply be miserable regardless of how their lives are configured?

There are also plenty of couples who have no kids (either couldn’t or chose not to) who are eaten up and bitter about that fact.

Would it be nice to get a little more rest? Sure. But I wouldn't trade places with you even if you paid me.
