Exactly. Just bc you don't think you'd be happy with my life doesn't mean I don't love it

I’m not really passionate about it one way or the other but it’s interesting how everyone I know personally is losing their minds with the kids stuck at home while everyone here is “doing just fine”.

It’s okay to simultaneously love your children and be miserable with them stuck at home 24-7 (which is not natural).

It’s tough for people to understand that not all of us raised shite heads. Our biggest fight right now is the kids fighting with each other but that’s just nature.

Going great here. My kids have been handling this much better than I expected. I've only gotten a few complaints of them being bored, they're actually riding their bikes around the neighborhood, they've been helping tremendously with household chores, and even more amazing the bickering between them has been minimal. They've been little shitheads a few times, but I'd be worried about them if they weren't little shitheads sometimes.

I'll be honest, I'm much happier now that I'm at my MILs house and have some help with my kid.

If I wasn't working it'd be a lot more enjoyable to be home with him. But since I already worked from home, nothing work wise has changed. I still am busy AF and don't have time to entertain a 2 year old all day by myself while working 8+ hours per day.

So I call my situation a win/win. I get to spend more time with him, but have help when I'm on conference calls or really busy.

Maybe not every single one, but I’m sure plenty are I 100% am glad to not have kids. I’m not preachy about it and would have never brought it up had this thread not been started.. but I’m grateful for my current situation for sure.

Going spend the weekend with my godchildren though.

I don't have kids, but from what I'm hearing from friends who do have kids, they are enjoying the time being spend with them. They are doing outdoor activities: fishing, playing catch, side walk chalk, etc.

I'm 35 with no kids, but I do have a wife at home pregnant. We are lucky because she is a teacher, and is getting paid through all of this, and I am essential so I've been working as well. But if someone has children, and are miserable having them stay home, then they are probably miserable in general whether the kids are home or not.

This was what I was going to add to that post but didn’t want to assume. It’s probably a different perspective for most of y’all (male) vs. your wives...

Most of them will probably have them when that biological clock starts ticking. I'll be an empty nester in my 40s.

To be fair - People who don’t want kids usually aren’t referring to behavior.

Neither side is ever willing to concede to the other. So this really is a useless conversation

It's not necessarily just the kids being home that's shitty right now. It's the fact that me and the wife still both work essential jobs on a regular schedule, and have to come home and play home school teacher. And it's not like the amount of work they have to do is abbreviated for the situation. It's as if these teachers went regular fricking amount of schoolwork as through they're at school for a full day.

What about those who are past that age and still happy with their decision?

Male here, and my wife is still having to go to the office while I work from home. So it's all on me during the day with the 2 kids. Not going to pretend it's all been roses, but I'm far from miserable being "stuck" with them all day. The wife hates it because it's making her feel like a failure as a mother.

Now, my perspective may change next week as we finally have some e-learning set up from their school and their sleeping until noon will be curtailed.

Some people won't have kids obviously but I'd be willing to bet that a majority of the people in this thread without kids will have them at some point.
