I know the guy is polarizing for some, I think because he has an enormous audience and is hard to pin down politically for those that that matters to

But having listened to him now for years, I have to say it’s pretty damn impressive the breadth of topics he can carry on long form discussions about. He seems pretty well read as well

Fwiw as a comedian I don’t ever remember laughing during one of his stand ups. But clearly some find him funny

I mean, a slug feasting on an old dried up dog turd pulls off that feat.

Business and Knowing his audience - smart

Overall - smarter than Brint da musheen crystals but never the smartest guy in a crowded room, just louder and more assertive

I would have to say he’s pretty intelligent. He’s made something of himself. Has the biggest podcast on the planet. He is the main event commentator for the UFC. He own a thriving comedy club. He’s doing something. If you take everything Joe says super seriously, then you’re missing the point of the show. He just likes to talk to interesting people.

I think he’s smart but people think he’s smarter than he is. If you watch him interview experts, he would listen and responds “wow that’s so fricking crazy”. It’s gets old real quick.

Most of his interviews turn into discussions of mma and drugs pretty quickly. Only exceptions are some of the covid doctors he had on.

He’s self aware

To me that’s a sign of fairly high intelligence

His intelligence if you gave him an IQ test? Probably around normal. He'd probably be the first one to tell you that. He has accumulated a lot of knowledge though because he has had a wide range of guests with many different backgrounds to cover many different topics

I tried listening to some of his podcasts, starting from the beginning.
I didn’t care for them.

Not a big fan of his either but his choices of whom to interview are top notch

he came from food stamps to being filthy rich.
i dont think he's a mensa member by any means, but he's figured out how to achieve extraordinary levels of success.

This is accurate. It’s nice to listen to a conversation that’s not screaming. And he doesn’t talk over his guests. He lets them talk which doesn’t happen often now.

Johnny Carson was like that. He loved interesting people and allowed his guests to speak.

Rogan doesn’t try to one up his guests.

I’ve only seen a little if his comedy, don’t really find him funny either. I do enjoy listening to clips from his podcast

That hasn’t been my experience listening to him at all

Sure he’s an admitted proponent of psychedelics and has a side job in mma and is a life long martial artist. But I rarely hear him bring either topic up at irrelevant times

He can be a meat head sometimes but he is willing to listen to all arguments.

He is successful at what he does, but I am not sure how much that factors into intelligence. People think Trump is smart because he is successful so I would say Rogan is a pretty smart guy.
