Obviously there is going to be some correlation. But I would suggest it’s not as pronounced as one would think. There are so many other factors in play, i.e., social intelligence, conscientiousness, etc. How much of an impact do you believe intelligence has on success(success in this scenario would be professionally).

Book smart? Not as needed as common sense to be successful.

You better hope your success doesn't depend on your ability to form sentences.

Bush was a baffoon and the most successful politician in America.

Connections, social intelligence, likability, nepotism, and being amicable are paramount.

If you're referring to working in an office company, book smarts are alot less important than practicality, common sense, and general ability to be a problem solver IMO.

My boss once told me "Son, if you want to get ahead you've got to give some head."

There is a pretty clear correlation with IQ and earnings, but that doesn't prohibit a very intelligent person from being a bum or an average person from being wildly successful. I do think you're pretty fricked if you're a standard deviation below the norm, though.

Judging by many of the successful people out there, I'd say it's more important who you surround yourself with.

I would say depends on your field. Some fields require a greater intellectual capacity than others.

But for most, luck and opportunity are significant factors along with the stuff other people mentioned.

It’s better to be a warrior in a garden than a gardener on the battlefield.

Without knowing how much you have saved this quote is meaningless

My grandma retired 3 times and always had to go back to work because she never calculated how much she had saved correctly

Obviously not important if you are connected (Kardashians, Hilton, etc).

And these days not important if you make a viral social media page.

Oh.. and if you are a semi attractive woman apparently you can be successful if you show your butthole

you need to be smart enough to work hard. Any additional intelligence just sends you further into success

Depends on book smart or street smart. Dems are the most “educated” but they are total morons irl. Meanwhile the average oilfield baw is extremely smart when it comes to his craft and general life advice

It's one of several factors. From what I've personally experienced and observed, initiative seems more important than just about everything else. Effort, or lack there of, can cover over a multitude of either deficiencies or talents.

I dated a girl who’s father bought some property in bum frick Mississippi to raise cattle. Turned out the property sat on a massive gravel pit needed to build roads. He made millions. Sometimes you just got to be lucky.

That doesn't mean you're successful. Homeless people retire at a much earlier age

id say having combinations of personality traits like consistency, being ethical, and personable etc could off-balance someones overall lack of intelligence.

I don’t think welfare and Medicaid means retirement.
