Have you never filed a permit or sent in an application that had an applicable fee? Administrators don't work for free. That's even true at churches as they need money for bills and church admins. They just call it a donation for tax purposes.

Annulment is stating that the marriage did not satisfy all the requirements to be valid in the eyes of the church.

The local diocesan tribunal can annul a marriage if they find evidence that the marriage was invalid for some reason. One example would be if the OP was originally married outside the Church without a dispensation. That's the most common grounds for annulment.

Sorry, was thinking of one I was involved in and hit the submit button.
It wasn't bad for me although it was 35 years ago. Relatively cut and dry for me, I just dropped the hammer on a buddies future ex, with no lies or excess involved.
