Color me ignorant but I didn't know that was possible
Anyway pretty sure the noncatholic thing makes it a fine deal if you go through the process

Yeah it's possible. Weddings are big business for Catholic Churches. Just look at the Catholic Churches in nola, some are gorgeous. People pay well for that. I married a Methodist in a Catholic Church.

Priest was a family friend and happened to be the pastor. He was a HUGE figure in my area across several schools and churches. Everyone loved him. He passed away early after an overseas mission trip. He is probably the reason we were able to have the ceremony in the church.

It was not easy for Henry VIII.
If all else fails, tell the church you found out y'all are cousins. Maybe consanguinity is still a thing.

Yes sir. $2,500 will buy you 60 min in StLouis Cathedral. And that was several years ago.
We're talking 60 min start to finish including all setup tear down and all pictures. Oh and it's open to the public so anyone can walk in/down the isle with you.

All that work to get a decision in the eyes of some old priest that probably drinks at the local bar every Friday night.
Catholics, folks.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Big Churches in nola derived the bulk of their income from weddings. They do several every weekend and are booked months in advance. I think ours was about $1500 but we got a discount rate.

Yup, but what beautiful pictures!
We picked the Loyola University church Bc we got the alumni rate. St Joseph's on Tulane Ave might be my favorite.

NOLA is full of cathedrals.

Sounds like the majority here are either not catholic or not concerned with faith.
So you were a Virgin before you married?

At one point. Aren't we all?

He could be divorced already.
He's asking about an annulment. Annulment does not equal divorce.

It's easier than it used to be but still a process of more than 2 steps. Call your current church and get the ball rolling if you want one.

Then it's a good thing we don't have kids.
