I'd say an 8.5, but I have to remind myself of it sometimes.

I love this life and everyone I spend it with.
I'd give it a solid 10 but for my own shortcomings I hope to improve upon.
My sentiments as well. Surrounded by awesome beauty and the love of friends and family....still, it gets even better every day.

I’d say a solid 8. I want grandkids.

The little things in life are amplified, but I'm comfortable and content. I'd say a 9 because everything great or horrible in life is fleeting. Everything truly is temporary if you let it be. But with the right perspective and motivation, you will always find something new.

After being a new dad, it's amazing how many walls and doors infants break down with loved ones and everyday people. I hope you get your grandkids sooner rather than later.
Christmas is right around the corner. I didn't know my son was on the way until mid-December last year, and got to gift the parents with the news on Christmas Day. Truly a gift in itself.

9.5
Retired, own my home in a nice neighborhood with good neighbors, love our church, have plenty of money, good health, good wife, good grown kids with great spouses and jobs, and the first grandchild is due in February. God has blessed us.
But why can't they fix the roads in Louisiana?!

I was about a 7.5-8 a week ago, and then I had a heart attack. I'm around a 6 now, and plan to be back to 7.5-8 in a few months.

Just put a bad shot on a doe so not very happy with myself at all at the moment

Pretty much the same position as the OP.
Have all those things and am greatful for it and will never complain about the life I have, although on a day to day basis I'm not necessarily jumping with joy.

Ask me again after the LSU game today. A loss a 2 and a win solid 9.

I'm pretty happy these days. I don't take it for granted because it can disappear in an instance. My main issue is I have degenerative disc disease in my low back that causes me a lot of pain. Aside from that, life is good.

A good part of it is becoming comfortable with your shadow, or darker side.
We all have one, just tend to try to hide it and it controls our subconscious. Mastering it, becoming familiar with it is one key to contentment.
I have a strong darker side. Accepting it and keeping it in its proper place has helped me tremendously.

Ask me after the Mississippi state game today
Posted on 10/18/25 at 10:33 am to baybeefeetz
Sitting comfortably at 8. It would be a 10, but I lost my wife to cancer back in March and I won't have the money to retire for another 2.5 years.
On the upside I have no known health problems, I'm fit, and am financially comfortable even though I still have to go to work every day. Things could be much worse, so I'm very grateful for what I do have rather than being angry and bitter over what I've lost.
