Then you do have access to super fast internet because Chattanooga was forward thinking enough to treat internet access as utility and used you properly tax with some federal funding to install fiber.
But as other providers roll out fiber rest of the state is catching up with you.
Want to see some really fast speeds? The Oak Ridge baws have ludicrous speeds and several redundancies built in.

Only after you made an ignorant statement. I was simply trying to educate you.

It was about one old computer.
And even then it was a stupid thread that shows you have no idea about how any of this works.

Do you think that means they are still running on the same server speed as nearly 30 years ago?
I like to imagine the entire site is running on a Dell Poweredge server (2650) somewhere in a basement. Attached to an old 3com switch.

More speed will do me no good until I upgrade my hardware.
If I upgraded I might spring for the 2.5 gig.
They are touting the 10 gig for home use.
The 25 gig is to keep all the local tech companies happy.

It’s been a long time since this place has crashed due to traffic. Signing day was always the big test.
Last time was for expired certificates.
That’s about all I’m allowed to say.

I think that is what Silver Hood believes.
Wait until he learns about cloud hosting and how TD.com is probably spread across multiple virtual servers across different regions.

And even that was because Chicken wasn't charging enough for premium memberships so he had to spring for the basic hosting plan.

Most of us use virtual machines now.

EPB is still the fastest, you can get 25 gigs for 1500 a month on a residential account. They also do 10 and 2.5 above a gig. 2.5 was just recently added for $97. I bumped up for my servers.

25 is also available to residents. It’s $1500 a month. It’s $12.5k for companies. They were limiting the signups at one point.

I’m telling you if you worked at certain places around Oak Ridge the speeds are faster than Chattanooga. Even if you work from home.
But yea. I’ve been jealous of Chattanooga for 20 years or so.

I'm sure it's available to anyone with the money.
However, I think most would agree it would be a waste of money in a residential setting.

It depends on what you do at home, for you it would be a waste. Some people make use of the bandwidth.
