Well she would have to prove who made the sign and put it there now wouldn't she? She could have been sleeping with multiple married men as well.

While the cheating spouse is certainly more at fault, going after someone you know is married is still a shitty thing to do

I was wondering the same thing.

if it's true then I doubt it

I know one fact. That sign was erected in a public right of way. That's not allowed.

I'm not sure of the laws in Arkansas, but I'd imagine there could be a cause of action for Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress.

That said, a lawyer would probably have to consider a few things before filing that suit:

1. Assuming the woman did have an affair, you're not exactly going to be representing a very sympathetic plaintiff

2. That's important, because the damages would likely be in the form of general damages for emotional distress. A jury may not be all that eager to award a big sum to someone who knowing cheated with a married man AND caused equal, if not more, emotional distress to the defendant.

3. How much money/assets does the defendant have?
It's nice to get a judgment. But if you get a judgment against a brokedick from whom you can't collect, it's kind of a hollow victory.

Would be my thoughts as well. If she did know the guy was married and then attempted legal action I think the wife/exwife would also have a legit case.

Didn’t that exact thing happen not to long ago? Maybe not in America but I feel like I’ve read a suit regarding that.

Truth is often an absolute defense to defamation cases.

True. But if what is said (she slept with this psycho's husband) is true, it couldn't be defamation or libel correct? However, is it normal to make a sign and post it at an interstate on-ramp? Is that legal?

I know these women are crazy and all, but if something like that were to happen to me I think I'd just take the loss and move on with my life. It would suck, no doubt. But, I dont think I'd want all the attention with something like that going on in my life.

Well that’s bc you’re probably male, and by just nature, generally more logical. Women, not so much.

It does scream extra psycho though bc unless she owns a sign shop she had to wait a few days or weeks to have that sign made
