How far in advance do you need to buy lift tickets?

so many factors but for convenience, I buy at the mountain. for price, I would search for deals ahead of time.

they aren't typically discounted ever for the most part.

You can buy a season pass to Vail resorts for like 20% off through April for next season right now though.

If you plan on skiing any of their resorts (like 12 or so) for more than 5 days it's worth it.

Is there a particular site that is better than the rest?

I always buy my tickets at academy or a sporting good store. Cheaper than at the mountain

yeah, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Buying ahead of time is always cheaper but usually a pain in the butt. You can usually save $5-10. google the mtn and discount tickets.

watch blackout dates though, sometimes they are good on every day.

And frankly, ski season is just about over.

Pick a mountain that offers 4packs. They sell then in the summer time. I bought one for Loveland for ~100 the year before last and one for Copper this season for ~150. Considering a day pass is 60+ at Loveland and 100+ at Copper, it's a friggin steal

Depends on where you're going. I bought my Epic Pass 2 weeks out for about a 10% savings.

I'll be in Denver April 3-12.

I'll ski wherever the best prices are. I've already been to vail, copper, steamboat, winter park, keystone, and created beutte so I'm not worried about finding something really nice- just cheap.

I would call a store up north and ask them if they have any relationships with resorts.

I used to work at a ski shop and we had deep, deep discounts for a ton of mountains.

not that I can recall. Trying to save a few bucks got to be more trouble than it was worth. I can remember buying some grocery store coupon on ebay, then trying to use it on the mountain, all to save $30.

For true convenience you get them at a store like REI or someplace who does it or online instead of being in that slow arse line at the mountain.
