How exactly does one “get hype”?

This is something I’ve seen a few times over the past few weeks and it makes me irrationally angry. Much more so than it should. You watch the hype video to get “hyped” not “hype”.
I took a chance and decided to watch WBRZ for the weather since WAFB has Dianne Deaton today and I’m pretty sure she’s not a meteorologist and doesn’t know what she’s talking about and instead I got this bullshite. Just reminds me why I hate WBRZ.
How this headline makes it on air with a “respectable” media outlet is beyond me. Millennials are being hired by various employers haphazardly nowadays. Whoever was responsible for putting this on air surely had the same kind of typos on their resume that probably went ignored or overlooked during the hiring process and that is pathetic. This just screams unprofessionalism.
I fricking hate my generation.

First you snort a big line of coke.
Then you pop open a couple of cold dogs.
Then you just shake your dreads

I am 100% with you on this
You'll get shite on, but it drives me absolutely insane. I hate it when multimillion/billion dollar entities adopt stupid, nonsensical language as the norm, and this is a good example.
If some team's twitter account tweets out "GET HYPE!" - whatever. But I've seen it over and over again as part of ongoing marketing and makes me see red.

I know to doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things but it is not proper English and I expect proper English and professionalism from media outlets. It just aggravates me and I know I can’t be the only one who feels like this.

It's just the old fogies at the news trying to "hello fellow kids" their way into the younger public.

Ashley Fruge can “hello fellow” me anytime

If something that small makes you see red you have serious issues

Why bitch about hype, but have no issue with natty at the same time. Natty bothers me more than the use of hype, but it isn't enough to start a thread on it.
You can save this thread by posting some pics, that will get the ot hyped up...as the answer the the subject question.

That crap wouldn't fly in most other states.

We're all here typing about it, so is it a genius marketing ploy?
