My wife’s cousin has it and it is a shite condition to be strapped with!

My mother had it for about a decade before she passed. My uncle also has been diagnosed with it..it's much much less common in men.
I'm not 100% sold that the disease is real, but I believe the symptoms are very real. On top of the constant pain my mom had, she also had rhuematoid arthritis, seizures, and had a lot of trouble sleeping.
While Fibromyalgia nay be a catch-all term for symptoms modern medicine can't figure out yet, people do suffer. It may be psychosomatic, it might be autoimmune-related, but people are suffering.

I don't want to say it's not a real disease, but I was told I had it in 2012 by a neurologist. I never believed it, because some of my symptoms did not make sense. In 2018, I was finally diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis by one of the leading specialists in BR. So Yes, sometimes it's just a lazy doc---

I want to read the comments, but I'm too exhausted at the moment from my chronic fatigue syndrome.

It’s a psychiatric illness that only affects betas and double recessives.

Unfortunately all doctors are just in it for the money and when my sick cousin begs them for more medicine they only try to sell him on expensive mris and surgery or worthless injections
This couldn’t be further from the truth. Fibromyalgia is not real. When the treatment for soreness is to get off your arse and move it’s not a real illness. If I sat on the couch and didn’t do anything I would be sore too.
Your cousin sounds like a worthless idiot who is just a drug addict. Half of those symptoms are not even associated with fibromyalgia.

The best treatment is the fibro cruise.

He needs more because he has grown a tolerance to the medications and most likely is addicted to them and is confusing his fibromyalgia symptoms with that of detox from opiates. Those are definitely not symptoms of fibromyalgia those are symptoms of withdrawals. He will be much better off without the medicine, he needs to fix his gut imbalance and exercise.

Do some research. It was a research construct that doctors transitioned to a disease. It is not an actual syndrome.

A name and icd9 code was created for billing purposes, so when these lazy whining depressed women keep going to their doctor, the doc has a diagnosis to bill for...

The bigger disease he is suffering from is an epidemic in America. It's called The Opioid Crisis. I'm not saying your cousin doesn't have Fibro, but the symptoms he gets when he gets off his meds are called withdrawals.
As far as Fibro being real...I just read the symptoms. I see that it is much more common in Women than Men. Maybe that's due to Men being Men and not bitching about a sore back, a drained mind, and sleepless nights.
Welcome to Adulthood.

Women have stronger immune systems than men. Which, perversely, makes autoimmune conditions more likely.
