Yep.

The welfare state and the decline of the Christian values that this country has caused this.

I’ll throw porn, abortion, and the sex industry in there, too.

What the chart tells me is that people just aren't having kids anymore. Not having kids isn't a result of a "decline in Christian values".

People aren’t having kids because it’s too damn expensive

Having kids if able is a fundamental value of Christianity.

Also, divorce and cohabitation while unmarried, which the chart says has increased, are greatly discouraged.

It depends on what your priorities are.

The average American lives above their means and doesn’t prioritize having children and investing in their future.

We have new cars, big houses, and boats to finance.

I heard/read about a recent study/survey that determined people that had the most sex were married couples which had a faith based orientation in their lives... (I will see if I can find a link to post on it...)

So yeah apparently "Christain Values" does play into it...

Tell me that you would prefer to live under Sharia without telling me that you would prefer to live under Sharia.

100%. Been saying this for a years. The decline of the 2 parent Christian household is exactly why America is falling

Democrats have been pushing this for decades now

Ask yourself why people aren't able to have kids

These people typically have kids.

Mass urbanization and culture telling women to prioritize careers over starting families is a major factor that has lead to the declining birth rate. Kids are very expensive in cities and often times young professionals move far away from parents and family to pursue a career.

Having to pay someone to constantly watch your kid is extremely expensive when comparing it to having your parents or relatives watch them.

There are a ton of things that have contributed to this phenomenon and we can’t point a finger and say it’s only one thing.

Having kids is expensive. It will cost you 6k easily out of pocket to have birth.. Also one paycheck doesn't cut it anymore for most. So throw 15k a year* on top of that for daycare. Assuming the mom can keep a job but most quit bc there's no maternity leave.

In 1960 America was booming following the destruction of Europe and Asia. Those days aren't coming back.

i went to my sister in laws small Super Bowl party this year where our kid was the only kid. There were 3 other couples in their low to mid 30’s, none with kids. To me it seems strange to not want kids, to not have kids around at this stage of life. The “comfort” of not having children, be it financial comfort, free time comfort, low stress comfort, is nothing compared to the joys of parenthood. None of that comfort is worth it.

Acknowledging porn is fricking our brains up and abortions are causing less people to get married and less births is not advocating for Sharia Law. Goodness, what a reach.
