ive never shopped at JOS Banks, but im guessing they are a large enough retailer that they can mix and match jacket and pants. The places i shop dont do that. most of the time the pants are dictated by the jacket size, and they tailor from there.

I work for a publically traded commercial insurance brokerage in Nashville and we have a lot of younger employees who wear similar fits. They are taken seriously

I'd get fired for sexual harassment if I wore those

the top 2 are pretty bad. First one looks messy as hell and the second one is significantly too short inseam. Third one looks ok minus the terrible skinny tie. Skinny ties are awful.
But all 3 look cheap IMO

I know how tough it can be.
My measurements are kind of a nightmare.

Mine are slim fit, but not to the extent of the OP. The taper at the bottom is what makes it look bad IMO.
I agree. Like some else said earlier, slim fit is now closer to it fits right category. (No matter your size, you can get slim fit in big sizes well above a 46 or 48)
Skinny with the tapering down to tight around the ankle looks silly, but it is popular with the younger guys.
Modern fit or Tailored fit is for the bigger guys that don't want to wear a sack but don't want something skin tight.
I think guys should shoot for a well fitted suit with more of a straight leg look, then the tapered down to the ankle look.

this thread comes up every few months or so, usually in response to seeing Jesse Palmer wear something on ESPN.
different suits fit different body types and occasions, a skinny guy looks much better in a slim fit suit than he does in anything else.

Jesse Palmer wears fitted suits, or suits that actually "fit." The average american male wears a jacket 2 sizes too large (at a minimum) and baggy, pleated pants. Looks like a clown.
The OP pictures are not properly fitted suits, way too tapered for a classic, professional look. Maybe ok for a younger, thinner guy at a cocktail party. Or a tech job but those dudes just wear hoodies and jeans.

Pleats aren't bad on slim fit suits. I have 3 slim fits with pleats

I'm good with that. I was referring to the baggy, pleated combo.
