As a younger guy, video games have been a pretty large part of society in my generation. How does it make some of y’all feel to for example turn on ESPN and see a League of Legends tournament? It’s something I’ve always kind of wanted to know

People laugh it off, meanwhile some of these guys are making millions.

eSports are an abomination.
Microcosm for our society becoming lazy.

Just to gauge your knowledge, exactly how much time do you think players put into these games to get as good as they do?

Because a literal worldwide live audience of Millennials shell out to their gofundmes while they should be saving for automobiles or college.

The largest viewing platform for eSports is twitch, which is completely free

There are morons on here that still talk about how video games are for virgins in their moms basement without realizing these guys make millions. People that put down video game players have no clue how things are now.

I think he means physically lazy. Playing vidyas isnt burning any calories baw. Get outside and gets some exercise.

Of course they put in tons of time. But, it's a video game. It's not real. It's a pretend sport.
As we get lazier and lazier there will be major societal consequences.
Ppl are now too lazy to eat in a restaurant. They just Uber eats. Too lazy to play sports outside with others. Just eSport.

I had a coonass buddy in high school when video games came up during pre-class conversation he simply said "video games are soft." That was it. Kinda stuck

It didn't keep me from playing Final Fantasy 7, Castlevania SOTN or NCAA Football 03 but I can see what he meant

Well I mean you can say that but it’s not like the number of people that play real sports is going down. Video games are just also growing. Calling it an abomination seems ill informed if you ask me

I get this, and I agree people need to exercise more. However, I also think it’s shortsighted to call people lazy for putting in the time to try to become the top of an activity they are trying to do, when it will set them up with the resources they need to live a happy life. I just don’t consider that lazy

So do rappers.
So do the Kardashians.
So does Jaden Smith.
Cash me outside girl.

Doesn't mean it's not stupid AF.

Just means society is a joke.

That's because it's not sport, it's gaming. Monetizing it doesn't make it a sport. Professional poker is still a game.

I’d rather call uber eats and play video games inside the comfort of my home than actually go to a restaurant or be outdoors just to get bombed or shot up by a terrorist and/or white supremacist

I agree about the kardashians and Jaden Smith. I can’t agree about the rappers. Whether anyone agrees with their talent level, they figured out what the current generation wanted and how to exploit that market. I can’t hate on them for that
