Time to admit they invented magic.

Why do we drive on a parkway and park on a driveway?

This is one of those situations where grammar matters.

Get ready OP cuz this shits about to blow your mind.

Digital information, including a digital audio signal, gets transmitted as a series of 1's and 0's. These 1's and 0's are then processed by computer chips according to certain specifications in order to produce the desired output, which is sound in the case of a digital audio signal.

We've used wires to transmit audio before digital

So you really didn't answer his question

I don’t buy a bunch of 1’s and 0’s crap anyways. They treat us like morons telling us that kind of shite.

True but he did say succinct sound.

I always wondered about that. I get how information can be transmitted as a series of 1s and 0s or electrical impulses on a wire but how does it come out recognizable as my grandmother's voice?

Think about it like keys on a piano. Each key has a different signal that activates it, sort of like the Morse code alphabet.

Certain codes play certain notes or chords or hold the pedals to make all the sounds the equipment is capable of producing. The recording equipment turns your grandmother's voice into 1's and 0's sheet music and the player plays back those 1's and 0's by reading the sheet music and playing it on the equipment.

ETA: If you have the time, this is an interesting video that goes more in depth of how analog and digital audio signals work.

Sound travels via vibrations just like it does with your vocal cords

Vibrations create longitudinal waves that create what we know of as sound

Complex combinations of frequency and pitch that make up music or other audio are transmitted electrically to speakers that take care of the vibration aspect of it

It obviously gets a lot more in depth than that but that's a pretty good view of it from 30K feet

Resonant frequency equals two pie times the square of inductance times capacitance.

Mawmaw's voice just like an instrument is made up of a collection of fundamental and harmonic frequencies. That unique mix of fundamentals and harmonics allows for her signature sound, just like a piano and trumpet both sound different when they play A4 (440hz). A voice is a complex mix of frequencies and amplitudes and this complex waveform can be converted to digital the same way a simple wave from a tone generator can.

Physics, Calculus, some Chemistry, and a bunch of geniuses putting it all together.

More specifically, pressure waves, amplitude, frequency, analog to digital conversion.

Math, science, computers, and smart people.
