I always had a fascination with knife sharpening and flesh. It also seems like a practical skill set, unlike selling insurance or being a real estate agent.

Is there a school I can attend to learn the skills?

I'm curious to read the studies done on message boards in about 20 years on attention seeking and how their lives are in the absence of said message boards

Wholefoods has a butcher training program. It takes about a year, but if you're good and a fast learner, maybe 8 months.

It is a trade, so you probably go to a technical school or OJT at a grocery store with a butcher area.

I know an old man who has owned an old school meat shop in Chicago and it is amazing how much his business is still thriving after 50+ years in business. It has become somewhat of a tourist attraction

How do you feel about being a liberal with a long beard and lots of tattoos? Because according to youtube, that's who all the new butchers are.

On a related note, American Ripper on Hulu is pretty good. That guy went to med school to learn how to cut people up, but I suspect most serial killers just use the trial and error method. Good luck not getting caught in the age of DNA testing.

I wish we had a decent butcher in our area.
