On New Orleans radio they definitely edit it out

On sat radio I was listening to "all about the Benjamins " lil Kim has a verse about suckling dick and fricking. One line is.
"You should do like we do, stack chips like Hebrews"

They edit out Hebrews now.



On regular radio I find it funny that weed references are edited out.

Gin and Juice won't even say "smoking indo" on radio.

It probably gets a a pass because the song is (supposedly) about a conversation Mark overheard between two redneck workers at a video and appliance store when he was buying a new refrigerator. It’s a great song with a very memorable and recognizable intro.

Dude spent years writing these brilliant lyrics Baw:

We got to install microwave ovens
Custom kitchen deliveries
We got to move these refrigerators
We got to move these colour TVs

I never understood why the song didn't just bleep out the "****" word, like they do for other words in other songs like "Gold Digger" and "You Oughta Know"

It WAS banned by Canadian authorities a few years ago, but they reversed themselves a while later after people raised hell about how stupid they were being.

Knopfler has said the lyrics are almost word for word what he heard an appliance store employee saying while watching MTV at a NYC superstore of some kind.

Sting sang the intro. Lots of artistic credibility right off the bat. You don't edit Sting's work.

But really, Walk of Life is where it's at.
