I rinse off chicken thighs and pork cuts like loin roasts or ribs before pulling off the membrane. Would never occur to me for steak or other beef cuts.

You aren’t talking about shipping black people back to Africa so I don’t think it will be an issue.
I wasn’t aware washing raw chicken was a thing though. What is the thought process behind that? To wash away germs?

When you buy cheap meat you have to wash the bone shards off. Source, I've been poor

I was told to remove fecal matter. Apparently fecal matter is everywhere. Sounds more like "purging" Crawfish.

Black people tend to wash their meet. White people tend to not wash their meet.
Me personally, I don't fully wash it, but I do usually run some water over all my meat before I prep it to be cooked.
Maybe it's not necessary. Maybe it is, I dont really know or care. At this point it's basically ingrained in me to do, and it's not like it inconveniences me at all.

Throw meat in the sink. Turn on sink. Wash meat. season meat in the sink. Move meat to cooking apparatus, wash out sink.
This is what I never understood. I have seen people do that, but it always grosses me out. Unlesd they thoroughly cleansed the sink before doing, then ok. But otherwise sinks are already dirty. That's like eating your food directly off the counter or table for me.

My wife is a meat washer (hehe) and I always associate washing meat as being a female thing instead of a race thing.

USDA, CDC, and FDA urges against it because bacteria that causes food Borne illnesses is smeared into the sink and splashes up to 3ft which can get on utensils, plates and people.
Thats my take on it apart from what I put in the OP.

Same.. I’ll run some cold water over it for a couple of seconds and roll on.

I paid for it and it was very good quality.
He had a new barrel pit that he was bragging about. I told him to come cook for me and the men working in my yard.
We ain’t exactly poor.

Sounds like just about the most nonsense reason for doing something

There are ignorant people who always make it racial. I saw a thread on another forum the other day where black women were outraged that a white woman designed and sold sleep bonnets.( Some women wear a silky hair covering to keep their hair from getting messed up when they sleep).
The outrage was because they fervently believe that black people invented sleep bonnets.
I was puzzled because a sleep bonnet or night cap is such a common generic item that has been around for centuries in many different cultures.
Its not like its such a stunning and huge invention. Its a simple item that many people/civilizations figure out for themselves because they have a simple need for it ( to keep hair neat, keep head warm, keep bugs out ears, etc.)
Its bizarre to see people get enraged over something so basic, stupid and pointless.
