I’ve come to assume everything that is reported is fake until I do my own research. Just watching that video of the MSNBC reporter trying to shame non mask wearers and half his crew didn’t have one on. All news is politically driven. They have no shame in spinning it to fit their political agenda even if it what they are reporting is wrong. It’s disgusting really. Reporting in America is dead

Look at news from left wing news and right wing news and come to your own conclusion. Also I trust Bess Casserleigh and the gang when they are on my TV.

Agreed. Variety is the spice of life.

I haven't had a TV connected to dish or cable in about 10 years. I stream everything I need and us TD poliboard as my news center and if something looks fricky about the information, I look into myself.

It's really sad. Journalism used to be a fair, watchdog type investigative and informative medium. Not anymore. Can't believe anything you see nowadays. It's the immorality of everything. Schools don't teach right from wrong anymore. And the cancel culture is product of made up wrongs. Whatever happened to 'sticks and stones will break your bones but words can never hurt you' ? We teach kids to be too sensitive instead of toughening them up.

All they care about is profit. They don't care who or what they destroy along the way.

Journalism has always been kind of icky. It’s all about revenues not the truth. Hell, Yellow Journalism caused a freaking war back in the 1890s. Imagine if that happened today.

The Houston Chronicle website front page is full of dramatic clickbait words like....

Outraged
Pandemonium
Ruined
Racist
Catastrophic
Devastating

...to describe a lame story that is nowhere close to the words above. I look at it less and less every week with sports being a devoid topic.

The comments on articles are comedy gold, however. The journalists get destroyed for lame content, simple misspellings, and posting stories which were already covered in the NY Post (or some other large media outlet) a few days back.

I don't watch the news, but I take any interesting quotes or headlines that I come across and check a few fact checking websites.

I use to watch both sides to try to figure out what was really going but they’re so polarized, you can’t even do that anymore. I really don’t go to any of the cable networks for news these days.

How would you even know what I watch or how I scrutinize the info?

I save time by believing stories that confirm by biases and rejecting anything that threatens the carefully constructed reality that I've built around myself. Life's too short.

It's funny that Trump tells way more lies and spreads more disinformation than any other president yet his flock blindly believe everything he says and any news outlet that tries to question what he says is "Fake News" his hardcore followers are sheep is the problem.

I don't watch the news. I get what I need from the OT. Seriously, and usually much quicker.

Every other day there’s a story of them using video from something else or fabricating a story like the CBS Covid testing line. Or crying about no one wearing masks when their cameraman and half the sound crew isn’t wearing one.
