Nah you're missing his intention. If you step back you can see the big picture that he's trying to portray - this is all about passion. This is spur of the moment, anything goes, pure passion.
He isn't worried about the nuanced spelling of "stopping", the point is that one of the pros is Carrie "stopingin" him in his tracks.
