How do youngins develop into protesters?

I was thinking about this in class today, but what life path do they take to become a professional protestor? Seems like most of them come from middle class or affluent families that weren't oppressed. They seem to all have college degrees.
Is it liberal schooling growing up? Are just lost and looking for a place in the world? Is it social media fame and attention that they want? They sure as shite don't seem oppressed to me.
I don't know a single person that has ever participated in a protest, so I'd like to hear from yall that do

These people have no idea how to protest. I think they need to take a class on it.

It's self-loathing behavior that's a result of having been handed everything in life. They don't feel "authentic" or interesting enough on their own so they slum it up in hopes of absorbing secondhand street cred.

Have trust fund.
Attend liberal arts college and obtain useless degree on the colloquialisms of nomadic north american basket weavers.
Find no real job.
Smoke pot and party with people and blog on social media.
Watch comedy central for news and develop white guilt for your trust fund that your daddy or grand daddy busted his arse for.
Become a white ally, find out about jobs through occupy democrat.
Protest and profit (sort of).

mostly upper class kids, they likely went to school and got a degree that was worthless. they have alot of self pity and shame

These are people who were told their whole lives that they could be anything and do anything. Now that they are in or just out of college, they have learned that their insignificant lives are not going to be special and they can't do anything or be anything. So, they are trying to "make a difference" by "starting a conversation."

It should be "or"..
But to answer your question, I think its just dumb shits who think they can change the world, but have no idea that what they are doing is completely worthless. Think about this past weekend.. What exactly was accomplished? In their mind, the ones who got arrested probably feel as if they really had an impact and took a stand and has the arrest record to show for it.
They probably have no idea the majority of people look at them and do not take them the least bit serious.

Ha it's not mostly wealthy white kids, give me a break. It's mostly local kids that have dead beat lives working part time at the mall, retail, restaurants, etc. They don't have a 'career' nor parents to help them. The white SJW types are not much different than these BLM people.
If you don't have parents with a good career that motivate and show you what a work ethic with a career mindset can get you, it's easy to fall off. Our education system can be great for those with parents and family to help them, but without that guidance it can lose a lot of people.

Joined my first protest march in SF in 1967. Have marched in SF, LA, Seattle, Chicago and Florida. Let me just put it this way--you don't do this shite for the exercise, unless running from cops and tear gas is your idea of a good workout.
You do it because you believe mass protests are necessary--and an American tradition that goes back from today all the way to the Boston tea party.

Did you accomplish anything that wouldn't have been done otherwise?

Yes. I believe that something like 50,000 people marching in Seattle against the war in Viet Nam, for example, made a far greater statement than ... 50,000 people sitting at home musing about the war's injustice.
Civil rights. Worker's rights. The right to governed by representation--these are just some of the justices that have been gained--fought for--in part through mass protests.

Did it stop the war, or did it just annoy people?

It's been my experience that a functioning quasi-normal nuclear family doesn't breed protestors for "poor me" victim-driven causes. (SJW, racial equality, gender issues, etc.)
Usually these folks are out solving problems in the world rather than causing traffic problems.

I'd say about 10% of people in most protests are fully committed to the cause they are protesting about, have researched all angles of the issue, believe in it, and are willing to lay down their lives for it.
A good majority of the rest are just looking to find like-minded people for social interaction, making new friends, hooking up and partying.
Some are there not necessarily because they believe in everything the people are protesting, but they believe in the Constitution being protected that allows them to do so. So, you have "bodyguards" mixed in as well.
Obviously, there are also bad apples who just want to stir up chaos and cause trouble because they can & there are also hidden plants from the opposition who intentionally do things that put the protestors' cause in a bad light.
It's more complicated than some people think
Add: not talking about BLM protests...speaking more on multi-tiered movements like Occupy, etc

Civil rights, a "poor me" victim-driven cause?
With people like you at the helm, we'd still be paying taxes for the privilege of kissing the Crown's royal arse.
Some of the stuff you read on this board could not be believed unless read with one's own eyes.
