How do you think Albert Speer was able to be considered the "good Nazi"?

It seems like he knew a lot more about the Holocaust and the evils of the Nazi regime than he let on at the time.

I think people generally believe he kind of "got roped into it." As in he knew everything going on, but it was really none of his doing and there was no way he could stop it. In addition, he was willing to his first hand stories of the other Nazis. Now whether any of that is true, I don't really know, but that's how I perceive that he was able to gain that reputation.

The only "good Nazi" was Karl Doenitz.
He served his "pound of flesh" ten year sentence at Spandau Prison, and eventually died an old man surrounded by his grandchildren.

Im sure this applies to countless german soldiers/citizens too. But they didnt get the pass

Read the book and realize they were just as bad as any of the others - they just happened to be caught on the British and American side.
Yes we went to the moon but there are no good Nazis.

They also werent standing next to Hitler in his meeting room. Had those soldiers had the details he did I believe they would have. Obviously that's not the only thing that goes into it, but the major piece imo

It's difficult for me to imagine that the majority of Germans weren't aware of what was going on. Especially if they lived in a big city. I mean millions of people were rounded up, some shot on the spot, and shipped off to never be seen from again. I'd think that coupled with one speech from Hitler should have given you an idea of what was happening

Oh he knew it all. He had to. When you consider he was basically the lead man over the German war industry production efforts he had to know. He knew about the mass deportations, he knew a out the slave labor, and he knew about the death camps. He knew and was an active participant.
