I flip between 95.7 and 96.3 all day in my car.

95.7 is my favorite classic rock station in the state. They seem to play less journey and foreigner than most. They have an Ozzy/Black Sabbath heavy mix with plenty of Zeppelin and Hendrix, but they do seem to overplay Bon Jovi a little in my opinion. Regardless, an absolutely fabulous rock station.

In the mornings, though, I'd listen to 100.3 for the Rajun Cajun show. It was a great change of pace to listen to Zydeco and Swamp Pop instead of Walton & Johnson or NPR.

I like to listen to the local sports talk stations. Of course, I live in Houston where they are bearable and with all the pro teams there is actually something to talk about. Smaller market stations are horrible.

Big markets will have good stations.

Small markets like NO and BR don't.

Dude, I was on auto renewal. Some winner got a hold of my credik card info and charged $180 at Domino's in NOLA East. So I had to get a new card which didn't auto-renew.

NPR helps a little. You can get some informative stuff out of that station.

When a commercial or interruption occurs I switch back and forth between NPR and ESPN. Suites me well for the 15-25 minutes I'm in the car.

I don't. Any time I drive I make sure to have multiple CDs with me. I can play whatever I want as loud as I want and it allows me to relieve some stress while dealing with Baton Rogue traffic.

Sirius/XM have poor quality sound unless you're wanting spoken word.

Totally unacceptable for music.

For long drives it's a 160gb iPod loaded with WAVs and MP3 interfaced through the car stereo.

Pretty much what I listen to with the exception of some Lithium on rare occasion or pop when my kids are in the car. They don't understand the subtlety of Ronnie B and Pecker Lips.

My radio stays on 104.9 so I can "catch what's going on". If I get in and it's a commercial, as long as it's not Blair Cottingham, I will allow that commercial to end, if another starts, I switch to the Ipod.

I listen to it easily.

Radio only leaves 104.5 when 104.9 is a bit clearer.

Never cared about Sirius or anything like it. Haven't downloaded music in years.

I want sports. So I listen to sports.

Maybe I should start a thread "how do people listen to Sirius radio" and be just as whining.

"Oh god, I had to spend $10 to listen to specific channels that played A certain genre"

I'm happy with my free radio. I get local sports news about a university I care about, I get regional sports news from the same station and I get national sports news from... Guess... The same station/shows/host everyday.

Sounds like you should complain more about a credit card being stolen instead of "slummin it" with the free radio crowd

Aside from sporting events, I stopped listening to the radio -- satellite and terrestrial -- regularly years ago, especially while driving. I only listen to podcasts, and the experience is so much better.

With the rest, I've found multiple times that different stations will be playing the same song at the same time. Talk shows will have about 6-7 minutes of contest and 9-10 minutes of commercials. It is horrible.

Ditto. When it listen to the radio, it's either something like NPR, or it's while I'm working and commercials are irrelevant because I'm focusing on something else. I just got tired of 3 minutes of show followed by a crazy long commercial break followed by another few minutes of content followed by another insanely long commercial break.

Your definition of a dummy is... Just stupid really.

You asked a question. I answered it.

I listen to local radio because they talk about the things I like. I don't care that much about music (OMG OMG OMG MUSIC IS LIFE), but I do care about sports.

So I don't listen to Sirius because it is not in my interest. ESPN radio is what's perfect for me.

"Free Beer and Hotwings" in Shreveport 99x.

I listen to W & J sometimes, but there are so many commercials anymore I usually just turn it off. Sat radio never did it for me.

sports talk

It is God awful with the commercials

If I ever see the Ramsey's commercial people crossing the street I will treat them like Bruce Willis did Ving Rhames, but rather than cut them free after the torture, that sword would be impaled in them.
