You got a DUI. That could have killed someone. I wish you had served 5 years.

Youre wrong. And sleazy.
For saying if I was in legal trouble I’d pay anything to help my situation? Explain how that is sleazy.

Honestly. This thread has devolved.
I don’t like you, you don’t like me. We are both flawed human beings.
Moving on.

On a related note, this is a message board where people come to grind. We dont even know each other, we're here for venting and sarcasm.
Dont take this so seriously.

If it makes you feel any better, I have an attorney that bills by the minute reading emails. I have received an invoice for 10 minutes to read a two sentence email and him reply with one sentence.
I guess Im just glad he doesnt have a minimum time or round up.

Is this his first time being arrested? What did he do when he entered into wherever he entered? Let the court appoint him a lawyer.

Should they not bill for reading and responding to e-mails?

He does have a minimum time. It's probably 10 minutes.

Any money spent on lawyers would be a waste. It sounds like he has already set his course. There's always the chance that getting locked up for a year or two might knock some sense into him.

My bad I didn't see this the first time. Maybe he needs to do some time. Do judges give the option of jail or joining the military?

Lawyer quoted $25,000 to defend both charges.
If first offense a lawyer not needed he getting probation regardless... the charge will be reduced automatically... at least in Louisiana this how it go

Roger you are fricking this thread up.

I know a local firm that billed a former client of mine (I referred the client to this firm) years after the case was over for the time involved with the firm's motion to withdraw
I had never heard of that prior, and have never heard of that since, so do not refer anyone to that firm anymore.

$25k for multiple felonies is not that high for a big metro area in Texas. Especially if the lawyer is in demand. A first offense DUI in Houston will run you at least $10k if you hire a decent lawyer.

I know some people who do charge that here, but only 1 or 2 can do it consistently b/c word gets out quickly. If you're charging that on something like these charges, you better get major results. Your reputation spreads pretty quickly and criminals will know not to pay that for you.

25k for breaking and entering is way too high. He better not be a felon if he pays an attorney that much.

He could’ve billed you more. It could’ve been 10 minutes to review your email. Then a second 10-minute entry to reply to your email. He combined “read and reply” into one entry.
