Why would you get rid of Sirius???

Well worth paying for to not have to listen to the shite music on FM/AM.

Keep telling them no and make them accept it.

It was easier in my case because I was selling the car with the radio in it, but still. Stick to your guns.

Got the lifetime subscription and have had it in my car for over ten years and haven’t heard from them or given them a penny since. Love it

Well, you call them and tell them that you want to discontinue their service as of XXXX date. If they leave your service on after that, you have grounds to dispute the charge.

If you cave in and fall for a "promotional rate", then that is not the fault of the company.

They should just make the promotional rate the permenant one. $30/6 months isn’t a bad deal. I’m happy to pay $5 per month to not have to listen to commercials, but $20 per month is outrageous.

Calling to cancel, or argue for the lower rate is a hassle. There should also be an online option to cancel service.

I reported a dispute with the bank. They credited me the money that was drafted. They made Sirius reimburse them(bank).

But yeah, hold the line. Don’t break ranks.

I cancelled when I moved overseas.
Them: Are you sure you don't want to try this new plan?
Me: Do you provide service in Africa?
Them: Well no sir but are you sure you don't want to continue with this other plan?
Me: Dumbass I don't live on a continent where you provide service.
Them: Oh so you want to cancel.

2 years later and I still get mail from them. I have no idea how they continue to find my new addresses.

This exactly. I wouldn't mind it if I didn't have to call back and threaten to cancel every 6 months. Only now I have to do it four times a year because my wifes radio promotional deal runs out 3 months after mine does. I'm just fed up with the shite. Either lock my rate in at the discounted rate forever or let me cancel when I try to. Their customer service and business practices are bullshite and shady.

I feel you I came back with the six month deal. Now it's normal prices. I listen to pretty much nothing but Audible and Amazon music with a little Pandora. I don't even have my satelite radio in my work vehicle anymore. I only don't cancel because the kids like it.

That's a sweet deal, that you can never get drop. Can you transfer it to another vehicle if you get a new one?

NEVER give these jokers your credit card number.

Negotiate based on a “bill me” basis only.

If you’re negotiating to keep it, ask them to throw in streaming. I got it for $20 a year. Let’s me stream it via phone app and play on the patio, etc. with a Bluetooth speaker.

Couple years ago I cancelled so they offered me some crazy deal. I repeated it back cause it was so low, they said yes and I accepted.

When bill cane that offer was no where to be seen so I called to clear up. Long story short I said check your recordings were you offered the deal, I repeated back, etc on such and such date.

Their response, we (Sirius) need a subpoena for that. Needless to say, I got the deal promised, cancelled after that and won’t do business with them again unless basically free.
